Reading and writing can both be improved through the act of physically telling stories. Adults who tell stories to kids can reach students who have trouble reading, or who are learning English as a second language. Kids who tell stories, or act out ones that teachers read, can increase their vocabulary. For active kids (kinesthetic learners), storytelling is a powerful way to bridge the gap between books and learning.
